Power BI is an interactive data visualization software developed by Microsoft with a primary focus on business intelligence. It is part of the Microsoft Power Platform.

The Power BI tool offers many possibilities for exploring the datasets. You can utilize Power BI to hunt for quick insights as you work on your BI report or dashboards. Go to the datasets area on the tool’s left side, click the three dots (…), and then select Get Insights.

When a user chooses the Get Insights option, the dataset’s algorithms are run, and once they are finished, you are notified that insight is available for your dataset.

The tool will display all graphical representations of the user’s data insights when the user selects the View Insights option. The user can visit this option at any moment to verify the dataset’s insights option.

The user also has the option of Quick Insight on the first page when publishing a report to the Power BI service.

Dashboard creation:

By pinning visualizations from BI reports published using the Power BI desktop, you may build a dashboard in Power BI. All of the visualizations produced by the Power BI service can be pinned to create dashboards.

Open the BI report on the Power BI service in Power BI if you wish to pin a visual. Select the pin icon at the top of the visual.

A new dialogue box displays when you select the Pin option, as shown in the screenshot above, as shown in the following screenshot. It requests that you either build a new dashboard or choose an existing dashboard from the dropdown list where the graphic will be placed. This option is disabled if your dashboard doesn’t already exist.

After clicking the Pin button, the user will be informed that your visualization has been “Pinned” to the dashboard. To view the dashboard, click My Workspace.

Once the user dashboard has been created, the user can configure it using a variety of choices.

Sharing Dashboards:

The user can share dashboards and reports with other people in your company when the user publishes the user’s BI report to the Power BI service.

In Power BI, sharing a dashboard is quite simple.

The Share button is located in the top right corner of the screen when the dashboard is open in the Power BI service.

The Share dashboard will open a new window with choices when you click it. You must input their email address to share this dashboard with another person

User can send email notifications or let users share the dashboard. Users can also visit the dashboard directly by entering a direct URL, which you can supply.

Tiles in Dashboard:

The Focus Mode option and other settings can be found in the dashboard when you select More Options.

You may zoom in on the data on your dashboard by using Focus Mode. Use the Focus Mode to get a clearer view of the dashboard’s items when several values are present. Using Focus Mode, you can also view any columns that are hidden due to a lack of space.

Focus Mode is used to see all the data in the dashboard/report. Pining the visual directly from Focus Mode to a different dashboard is also possible by selecting the Pin icon.

To exit the Focus Mode, you can select the Exit Focus Mode option.

You can also use the Tile Details option to edit a few formatting changes. This option allows changing the tile’s title, subtitle, last refresh time and date, and other details, such as creating a custom link for your dashboard.

Data Gateway:

The Focus Mode option, along with other settings, can be found in the dashboard when you select More Options.

You may zoom in on the data on your dashboard by using Focus Mode. Use the Focus Mode to get a clearer view of the dashboard’s items when there are several values present. You can also view any columns that are hidden due to a lack of space by using Focus Mode.

According to the Power BI official website, you can connect to your on-premises data sources utilizing Data Gateway with the on-premises gateways to keep your data current without having to move it. Utilize your current assets by querying huge datasets. The gateways give you the flexibility you need to fulfill both your organization’s and people’s needs.
You must run the setup program until it has downloaded and the installation process is finished in order to configure download gateways.

You must log in to the Power BI gateway service after Power BI Gateway has been launched.
By going to Schedule Refresh and frequency of the schedule, you may also activate automatic updates.
