Nari Shakti Puraskar 2023: In India, Nari Shakti Puraskar is the highest and most prestigious civilian honour for women. Indian women have been respected since the Vedic era. In modern times, women are working in several fields. They are encouraged by the government of India to implement different types of government schemes. To motivate them, the government has started a reward, called Nari Shakti Puraskar. The award money for this prize is ₹ 2 lakh. The sponsor of Nari Shakti Puraskar is the Ministry of Women and Child Department. Nari Shakti Puraskar is given by the government of India, every year, on 8th March on an individual woman International Women’s Day, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, in New Delhi. Nari Shakti Puraskar is given to an individual woman or an Organisation that works for women’s empowerment.   3. Mata Jijabai Award: Jijabai was the mother of Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire in Seventeenth century. This award is given to the best urban body that provides facilities and services for women.
  4. Rani Laxmi Bai Award: Rani Laxmi Bai was the renowned leader of the Revolt of 1857 and the queen of Jhansi. This award is given to the best institution which works for the research and development of women’s empowerment.
  5. Rani Gaidinliu Zeliang Award: Rani Gaidinliu Zeliang was a Naga political and spiritual leader. This award is given to the best civil society organisation that works for the welfare of the women.
  6. Rani Rudramma Devi Awards : Rani Rudramma Devi was the female ruler of Decan Pleateu of the thirteen century. Rani Rudramma Devi Awards is given to two Gram Panchayat and two Districts panchayat that work for the women’s welfare under Beti Bachao, Beti Padao scheme.
