MoviePy – Getting Width of Video File Clip
In this article we will see how we can get the width of the video file in MoviePy. MoviePy is a Python module for video editing, which can be used for basic operations on videos and GIF’s. Width is the part of the dimensions of the video, w9dth is basically the base of the video.
We can load the video file clip with the help of command given below
clip = VideoFileClip(file_name)
In order to do this we will use
w
attribute with the VideoFileClip objectSyntax : clip.w
Argument : It takes no argument
Return : It returns integer
Below is the implementation
# Import everything needed to edit video clips from moviepy.editor import * # loading video dsa gfg intro video clip = VideoFileClip( "dsa_geek.webm" ) # getting subclip from it clip1 = clip.subclip( 0 , 10 ) # getting width of the clip width = clip1.w # printing value of width print ( "Width of clip : " + str (width)) print ( "---------------------------------------" ) # showing final clip clip1.ipython_display(width = 480 ) |
Output :
Width of clip : 854 --------------------------------------- Moviepy - Building video __temp__.mp4. Moviepy - Writing video __temp__.mp4 Moviepy - Done ! Moviepy - video ready __temp__.mp4
Another example
# Import everything needed to edit video clips from moviepy.editor import * # loading video gfg clip = VideoFileClip( "geeks.mp4" ) # getting subclip from it clip1 = clip.subclip( 0 , 7 ) # getting width of the clip width = clip1.w # printing value of width print ( "Width of clip : " + str (width)) print ( "---------------------------------------" ) # showing final clip clip1.ipython_display() |
Output :
Width of clip : 656 --------------------------------------- Moviepy - Building video __temp__.mp4. MoviePy - Writing audio in __temp__TEMP_MPY_wvf_snd.mp3 MoviePy - Done. Moviepy - Writing video __temp__.mp4 Moviepy - Done ! Moviepy - video ready __temp__.mp4
