  • Guru Rabindra Jayanti: 8 May is celebrated to honour the legendary Bengali artist Rabindra Nath Tagore who was born on this day. Lots of cultural activities are organized on this day to celebrate the event.
  • Parasuraman Jayanti: This festival is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Parashurama, who was the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It falls during the Shukla Paksha Tritya in the Hindu month of Vaisakh.
  • Birthday of Kazi Nazrul Islam: On this day, the Bengali musician, poet, writer, and revolutionary Kazi Nazrul Islam is honoured. Several cultural programmes are organized to commemorate his birth anniversary.
