Teachers Day: Very good morning to the respected principal sir, teachers, and my dear friends. Today we have gathered here on the auspicious occasion of Teachers’ Day. It is a day dedicated to honouring all our wonderful teachers and their dedication to providing us with their invaluable knowledge. So let us acknowledge our teachers and their dedication, hard work, and commitment to us.

Teachers’ Day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as a tribute to his contributions and achievements. His contributions to the field of education and his belief in the power of education to change lives have inspired us all. He has always emphasized the importance of good teachers as he believed that a country requires better teachers to build a better nation. APJ Abdul Kalam once said, “Teachers are the backbone of any country, the pillar upon which all aspirations are converted into realities” which means that teachers are the only ones that can guide a student to achieve their dreams and aspirations.

Teachers truly are a boon to students. Beyond the academic syllabus, teachers impart life lessons and values that shape us as responsible citizens of our country. They teach us to embrace ourselves and invoke different perspectives, and ideas inside us. They teach us compassion and social responsibility, inspiring us to make a difference in the world. A simple “thank you” is not enough for the number of hours our teachers have worked tirelessly for us. Let us express our appreciation not just through words but also through our actions, by applying the lessons they have taught us in our lifestyle and imparting their provided knowledge further.

Lastly, I want to thank our whole teaching staff on behalf of all the students for being there for us when we needed you. We look upon you and follow your footprints. Your teachings will always lead us to our dreams. I want to end this speech with a beautiful Sanskrit shloka:

गुरुर्ब्रह्मा ग्रुरुर्विष्णुः गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः ।
गुरुः साक्षात् परं ब्रह्म तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः ॥

which means the teacher is our Brahma, the teacher is our Vishnu, the teacher is our god and we salute to such teacher.

Thank you and Happy Teachers Day.
