I started my career as a software employee at Jumbotail. Jumbotail is a product-based start-up company in Bangalore. A product-based software company is good to start as you have multiple things to learn. The company had a Jumbotail app. Through this app, retail shop owners can order items from the wholesale market. Thus Jumbotail is an e-commerce app. As a programmer analyst, I need to identify the issues present in the app and write or modify the code.

My key responsibilities

  • Resolving the issues that we encounter every day. These issues must be solved as soon as possible. They can be solved manually or can be automated.
  • Taking one particular issue from everyday issues and debugging the reason for the issue. We need to go through the entire code based on function calls in a systematic manner to debug the issue.
  • After identifying the issue, you can modify the code and publish the code after getting approval from senior developers.
  • Making documentation of issues and steps taken to resolve them.
  • Automating a few manual tasks using Python.
  • Learning about the software, structure and flow of the Jumbotail app.

It was a great experience. As a beginner, you will learn a lot. You learn how to debug any kind of code, how to handle issues and how to prioritize tasks etc. I got a lot of insights into JAVA and backend development, building APIs, and communicating between microservices using APIs and JSON. I love Python and I automated many tasks using Python.

Pros

  • Great learning path.
  • Friendly managers and team members.
  • You will have good growth in your career.
  • If you like problem-solving and automation, then this company is for you.
  • Good salary for a fresher.

Cons

  • The only problem with the company is that you need to be available at any time. This is because we don’t know when there will be an issue.
  • Sometimes you will be overburdened with the issues.
