IRDP Stands for Integrated Rural Development Program. In the year 1978 IRDP was established. Although it was implemented after two years in 1980. The main purpose of the establishment of IRDP is to provide good opportunities to the poor for employment in rural areas. Other than providing opportunities it also aims to create and develop skills that are necessary for them to be more employable and therefore enhance the standard of living. It is one of the best programs which took the initiative for solving poverty and providing better opportunities.

Composition of IRDP

The Integrated Rural Development Program is composed of the MP, the chairman of Zila Parishad, representatives of SC, ST women, MLA, and officers of development departments. It is composed of small and marginal farmers. People whose average income is less than Rs. 11,000.

Allotment of Subsidies under the IRDP

  • Scheduled caste people get 50%, scheduled tribe women get 40% and Differently-abled people get 3% subsidies.
  • Marginal farmers get a 33.3 percent subsidy.
  • Family belonging to SC, ST, and Differently-abled get a 50% subsidy.
  • Women get 3 percent of the subsidy under the Integrated Rural Development Program.
