IPS salary in hand is calculated by considering the factors prescribed for the 7th pay commission. An IPS Officer is subjected to receive a salary in the pay scale as provided for the entry-level. The basic pay for a UPSC IPS 2023 is Rs 56,100. However, the monthly salary is also inclusive of the allowances and perks. The gross salary of an IPS 2023 is approx. Rs 71,000 to Rs 72,000.

IPS Rank Wise Salary 2023
Once a candidate joins the force as IPS he joins the entry-level post i.e. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). The entry-level IPS Salary is Rs 67,696 per month.

Every IAS Profile comes with a fixed duration period, the minimum time period is 04 years and the maximum time duration is 18 years. IPS Officer Salary 2023 Training Period
An IPS Officer is generally an entry-level position similar to an IPS Officer. However, unlike the latter, the former is a field job and the IPS works with the district police team. Ideally, the starting salary of an IPS is Rs 6 lakhs to 7 lakhs. However, the candidates are also paid during the training period. The overall pay scale is based on the pay matrix that is decided by the state authorities in which they are posted.
Earlier, the IPS Officer’s salary was Rs 30,000 to Rs 32,000. However, after the introduction of the 7th pay commission, the officers are paid around Rs 54,000 to Rs 56,000.
