Talking about my Interview Experience with GreyB there was a total of 4 Rounds but before that, students were screened out on the basis of their CGPA which should be 7 or above. All the branches were allowed to apply (B. Tech (CSE/IT/ECE/EE/ME/CE) & MCA).

Talking about the rounds:

Round 1: This was a coding challenge in which there was a total of 3 questions (2 Medium and 1 Easy level). The time limit was 1 and half hours, and it was conducted on Hackerrank, the questions were:-

  • Climbing the Leaderboard (https://www.hackerrank.com/challenges/climbing-the-leaderboard/problem)
  • A Very Big Sum (https://www.hackerrank.com/challenges/a-very-big-sum/problem)
  • Format Conversion (https://www.hackerrank.com/contests/gb-software-intern/challenges/format-conversion)

Only those were selected who were able to do all three questions so prepare for the coding round well. Out of 150+ students, only 52 were selected for the next round.

The results for the next round were out in a few hours and I think what I like about GreyB is their speed they end the whole process within 3 days, with no unnecessary wait for the results.

Round  2: I got selected for the next round and now this was a Coding Interview round. Here they asked me first to rate myself in all the languages I have mentioned in my resume, and the second question was a coding question which I have to do within 15 min after I did the question they asked me to do one more operation in that and my interview lasted 30 mins (But this was not the case with all my friends some got drilled up to 1 hrs and more and were asked questions related to resume, the coding question that was in the previous round, what was their approach and how will they further optimize it, how will they perform this or that operation in those questions).

The Coding question was:

  • Write a Program that will accept the string if there is ‘a’ following three or more consecutive ‘b’. And the operation that they asked me to do after I coded it was to Count the number of such occurrences.
For example:-
Input: abbbabbb
Output: Accepted 2

From this round, only 8 were selected for the next round

Round 3: I was able to crack the previous round so went for the next round and in this, they asked questions related to my Resume and projects. The questions were, Is there something which I would like to highlight in my resume, What were the versions of the language you have worked upon, Explain your Project, and since I have mentioned open Source in my resume so questions related to that like What is Github, and Git and many other questions from the resume.

Then they asked me if I have a question for them and I asked one, so if you are appearing for any Interview be ready with this question.

This round ended and The next was the HR round.

HR Round: They gave a telephonic call for this round and asked questions related to personality check and Intro, and work location preference.

In the end, only 4 students were selected.

Suggestions: Even if feel you will not be able to solve the question in Interview Round at least give it a try, tell them your approach because they are basically checking your Problem-Solving skills, don’t get blank, and speak what you have in your mind. And try till the end.

Good Luck!!
