Uber, a multinational mobility major on Monday announced a range of products keeping customers from different categories in mind. The products were announced at the company’s second annual product event. The products include the updates of the new features for business travelers, group rides, and electric vehicles.

The development has come amid the time when the CEO of Uber Dara Khosrowshahi recently revealed the plans of making Uber a single platform for all transport-related services. He had stated in an interview that apart from the platform sticking to a cab booking service, he wish to see it becoming the “Amazon of transportation”.

Although, at the event themed at ‘go anywhere and get anything’, the mobility major has made several announcements that include Uber Travel, Uber Charter, Event Vouchers, Uber Comfort Electric, an EV hub, and charging map, etc. CEO Khosrowshahi in a blog post has mentioned the products and their features. The products are segregated into two sections ‘Go’ and ‘Get’.

Under ‘Go’, Uber Travel, the company aims to make travel easy for the users as they will be required to link their Gmail account with their Uber account, and the further facilities will be sorted by Uber. The app will arrange hotel stays, flights as well as restaurant reservations. After doing so, the users will be offered a 10 percent Uber cash each time using Uber Travel which they can use in order to avail of other services on the app. Currently, the service is available for users in the United States and Canada. Further, it will be launched in the United Kingdom.

On the other hand, Uber Charter will be enhancing customer experience and will get them at ease as it is specifically designed for events such as weddings, wine tasting, or any work event. After this service, users will be able to book a party bus, passenger van, coach bus, etc. using the Uber app. It will also show the pricing in the app. The service is expected to be launched across the United States in the upcoming summer.

‘Vouchers for Events’ will come with the benefits like savings for example if the users are paying for a large group of people for events like weddings, they will be required to share a unique code with their guests and the guests use the code to book their Uber rides which the host has already paid for. Vouchers can also be availed for Uber Eats and for Business customers as well.

In addition, the mobility major has announced the expansion of its Comfort product which now will offer EVs like Tesla, Polestar, and Ford Mustang Mach-E. Uber mentions that Comfort Electric will now be available in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Dubai, and more cities in the upcoming times.

Also, under the EV Hub and Charging Map, the company will build an EV Hub in the Uber Driver app where the drivers will be able to compare costs between regular cars and EVs as well as they will be able to find the charging stations.

With the ‘Get’ theme, the mobility major is adding a feature that will let the users order food from Uber Eats through Google Assistant by integrating it into the app. The service will initially be available to English-speaking users. It will also expand the Uber Eats services at stadiums in order to provide users accessibility who are not willing to miss a match by standing in long queues for food.

The stadiums where the service is currently available include,  Dodger Stadium and Angel Stadium; New York at Yankee Stadium; Washington, D.C. at Capital One Arena; Houston at Minute Maid Park; San Jose at PayPal Park; and Rennes, France at Roazhon Park. Uber has said that more stadiums will be added across the world in the upcoming days.

Additionally, Uber is partnering with autonomous vehicle companies, Serve Robotics and Motional with an aim to start robotic deliveries on a pilot basis in Los Angeles. Serve Robotics’ robots will offer short-range deliveries while traveling on sidewalks. While Motional uses electric Hyundai Ioniq 5 SUVs that require two safety drivers in the front seat.

Apart from this, the company has also added a membership program that will deliver new perks to members by joining hands with partners like Marriott Bonvoy, Clear, and Obé Fitness.
