GITA Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar Campus Experience

Hello Everyone, I am going to share my 1st year of college experience in this article.

My college name is GITA AUTONOMOUS COLLEGE, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It is one of the top colleges in Odisha. It is Well known for its infrastructure and studies. The faculty of our college is at its best. They all are well-skilled and experienced in their fields or subjects. There are around 12 branches in our college including the sub-branches of the Computer science engineering branch. I am currently studying in the CSE-AIML Branch. So this is a brief description of my college.

Currently, I am studying in the 2nd year of college. So I can share my 1st year experience in our college. I joined this college in the year 2023 in the month of September. After the admission, I have been allotted to a Hostel Called BH-16(Boys Hostel-16). It is the best of the best Hostels in the whole campus. It is very clean, hygienic and beautiful. The warden of that particular hostel is so friendly and lovely. You will fall in love with him. He is such a gem of a person.

After joining the college we were told that there would be a week of induction programme where no classes would be conducted in that week only self-introduction type of classes are conducted. After a week the classes have been started and I have realised that the teaching style of all the teachers is wonderful. After 4 months, We appeared 1st Sem Examination, which was very easy to write. Before the 1st sem, there was a Mid -Mid-semester examination.

I have scored good marks in that Mid- Mid-semester examination. The 1st Sem continued for 20 days period. After the Examination was over the college gave us 20 days’ holiday. After the holidays the 2nd sem syllabus has been started and the classes and labs are going successfully. After a few months, in the month of May, we have our 2nd sem examination. Which is also a simple One. This is My 1st Year Experience.

The college environment is the best of the best scenes on the whole campus. The infrastructure is top notch and the gardens, parks and many more things are beautiful. I fell in love with the infrastructure of our college Library which is like a tourist spot. You can imagine now how beautiful it would be. Due to the great infrastructure and environment, Many movies and short film shooting are done in our college. Which is a very proud moment for the students studying in it. Many students have helped in creating the parks and water fountains and many more. This is all about the environment in our college.

Every year in March, my college conducts a fest called Aakansha. During the fest there will be another two fest conducted in that week called, Tech Fest and Sports Fest. These are 2-day programs. Each one will last for 2 days and the last two days are for cultural programs like Akansha. In that particular fest dances, singing and acting activities will be done. Which will be like heaven to watch. During the cultural fest, on day 1 the students are advised to wear traditional dresses and on day 2 they are advised to wear the Western type of dresses. So this is my best experience in my college. Hackathons are conducted like the smart India hackathon which is by the government of India. It will conducted in October. Which will be very helpful to us to upskill ourselves. I advise everyone to take part in the fest, which will help you in times of placement.

I am speaking frankly, In our college the placements are very low and poor. Despite having such a great, experienced faculty students are facing difficulties in cracking a placement. I don’t know what’s the reason for such poor placements. It’s the fault of the students or the fault of the college placement coordinator. I DON’T KNOW. But I hope in future we can get good placement opportunities and offers which will help students a lot. So this is all my experience of 1st Year in our college. I hope you all like it.
