Pre-requisite:- Azure

Azure is Microsoft’s cloud computing platform which helps to build solutions to meet business goals. It supports infrastructure (IaaS), platform (PaaS), and software-as-a-service (SaaS) computing services.

Here in this article, we will show you how to enable data protection for blobs and containers in an Azure Storage account. You can enable data protection either while creating a storage account or after creating a storage account. Here we are going to perform steps for an existing storage account.

Note: To implementing the steps requires contributor or storage contributor access to the target resource.

Implementation

Step 1: Log in to Azure Portal

Step 2: Access the azure storage accounts >> select the storage account which wishes to enable the data protection

Step 3: After selecting your storage account from the left pane scroll down to Data Management and select the Data protection

Step 4: Now in the Data Protection Section check in Enable soft delete for blobs and Enable soft delete for containers. Give a number of days to keep deleted blobs and also containers of your choice. By default, you get 7-day protection when enabled.
