Meaning and Usage of Accept

Accept is a verb form in English grammar that means to receive or take something with a will. 

For Example, He was given a gift by his mother and he accepted it. Here, accepted is the second form of acceptance and it means that his mother gave him a gift and he willingly accepted that.

The second meaning of acceptance is something that is used to express the approval of the person. 

For example, He will not accept this gift. This sentence means that the person will not accept that gift and reject it.
