During registrations, we have to choose between two pathways: Advance Networking OR Advance Software. I choose Advance Software.

After registrations, a webinar was conducted to brief us about the further rounds of the Ideathon.

Also, We have to apply for job roles on the Cisco careers site. The roles offered were :

  • Consulting Engineer
  • Technical Consulting Engineer
  • Data Engineer
  • Site Reliability Engineer
  • Software Engineer – Internal Applications

We were allowed to apply to multiple roles.

Round 1 (Preliminary Online Quiz) 90 mins :

Consists of three major sections, along with an additional section dedicated to advanced software. We have to attempt the complete test in one go within the specified time.

1. Aptitude and Reasoning (10 Questions) :

The questions were basic and easy to solve. This section evaluated candidates on logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, numerical aptitude, and analytical skills. The questions might involve pattern recognition, series completion, logical puzzles, and basic mathematical calculations.

2. Basic Networking (10 Questions):

Questions were based on basic knowledge and fundamentals of Networking. It covered topics such as network layers, subnetting, network devices, protocols, routing, switching, network security, and IP addressing.

3. Coding Problem (1 Question) :

Candidates were given a coding problem related to arrays, data structures, or algorithms. The problem was easy to medium level, but time-consuming.

4. Advance Software (1 Question) :

This section was different for Advance Networking and Advance Software. 
This section was designed to challenge candidates with a more complex coding problem. It took me around 30 mins to solve. Very few students were able to solve this problem from my college.

The whole process was proctored. 
The result was declared after 5-6 days and I was selected for the next round.
