Baker Hughes Interview Experience for Summer Internship (On-Campus) 2023

Round 1: Resume Screening:
This round was comprised of resume shortlisting around 301 students were shortlisted.

Round 2: Digital Interview (HireVeu Platform)
This round was a virtual digital interview on the HireVeu platform. This Round was having 6 questions that we had to record and the time for each answer was 3 minutes and 1 minute for preparing and thinking the answer.

1. Explain why your background and experience would be the best fit for this job.
2. Why did you decide on your degree program?
3. What do you want to gain from the internship at Baker Hughes as a software developer?
4. Describe a time when you had to deliver a challenging project what was your role and what was the outcome?
5. Tell us about a time when you had to deal with multiple priorities how did you organize your time?
6. Grow is one of our company values ..please share a time you recognized you had a weakness, whether in your studies or work experience what action did you take to address this weakness?

Around 256 were selected from this round.

Round 3: Technical Test (Microsoft Forms)

This was a technical MCQ round. 25 questions about Data Structures, SQL, OOPS, DBMS, OS, and Aptitude were asked and the time was 30 minutes. They prepared the question snippets on VSCode by themself and the screenshot was attached in the question they were asking.

Around 100 were selected for next round.

Round 4 : Group Discussion (Microsoft Teams)

In this round groups of 10 member each were formed and 2 panel member were there to evaluate. My topic was “Future of Electric Vehicles”. This round was of 30 minutes from (08:00 AM to 8:30 AM).

Only I was selected from my group. I don’t have the information that how many was selected as we were getting links on personal Id’s.

Round 5 : Technical Interview (Microsoft Teams)

Around 08:43 AM after 10 minutes of GD round I received the link for technical interview scheduled at 09:15 AM. This round was about 50 minutes and there were 2 panel members. In this they asked me about my project and technologies used. Apart from that basic OOPS (Pillars) and DBMS questions (ACID Properties )was asked with examples. Later They asked me advantage of MongoDB, Steps of Data analysis , Any one Technical Challenge face in my Projects. I finished this round around 10:05 AM.

Round 6 : Leadership Interview (Microsoft Teams )

Around 10:40 AM I received the link for Leadership round scheduled at 11:15 AM. This round was basically Technical + HR round. There were 2 panel member (1 HR + 1 Senior Software Developer). This round was again around 50 minutes. They asked me several questions.

1. What is your aspiration?
2. Why Baker Hughes?
3. How can you contribute to our company?
4. Tower of Hanoi Problem
5. Explain Logistic Regression to a person who is not from tech background .
6. Projects discussion.
7. How your friends and teachers describe you?

Some more follow up questions were asked.

This was the last round and I was waiting for the results.

Result : Not Selected

Tips : The last round was very important we have to sound more technical as here the HRs are also technically good. This round was not normal HR round like other companies but they evaluate you on various parameter and technical knowledge too.
