Apple is a popular American multinational conglomerate that manufactures consumer electronics software and also provides some applications and services. It currently employs more than 150,000 employees and is headquartered in Cupertino, California. It is currently the largest technology company in terms of revenue and market capitalization of around 3 trillion dollars. It is also one of the biggest five tech companies including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Facebook. Apple is known for its popular iPhone and is currently the fourth largest computer manufacturer and second largest mobile manufacturer in the world and also recorded a revenue of more than 370 billion dollars in 2021. The popular products and services made by Apple are iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Mac Airpods, Apple Watch, and Apple online services.

Apple was the world’s first company to be valued at more than one trillion dollars in August 2018 then 2 trillion dollars in August 2020 and 3 trillion dollars in January 2022. The company is considered the most innovative company in the world because most of the features that are used in its products by Apple are also used by other companies as well.

Apple Inc. – History

Initially, Apple was founded as the Apple computer company on April 1, 1976, by three colleagues namely Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne. They developed the first personal computer called the Apple I. Then Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak changed the company’s name to Apple computer Inc in 1977. They also sold the next generation computer called Apple II which became one of the most popular and high-selling mass-produced personal computers. Then Apple made its IPO in 1980 which made all three founders instant millionaires. At that time Apple was more focused on building an innovative user interface for their Macintosh. Due to the high initial building cost of Macintosh, it was a very terrible failure for Apple and its founders, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak have to step back from the position and pursue their other companies.

Then in 1997, Apple bought NeXT, bringing Steve jobs back to the company. Then under Steve Jobs’ leadership, Apple again sold its iMac which became an instant hit in the market. In May 2001 Steve jobs introduced the iPod which was a music streaming device.

The biggest year for Apple was 2007 when Steve jobs introduced a touch smartphone called the iPhone. It changed all the game for Apple as it was quite ahead of its competition. Full introduced the app store to allow third parties to host their applications for iPad and iPhone which led them to an average daily revenue of 1 million dollars.

Then in January 2011, Steve Jobs announced that he will step down as the CEO of Apple due to its bad health, and the chief operating officer Tim Cook will look after apple in his absence. Unfortunately on October 5, 2011, Steve Jobs died because of cancer, and CEO Tim Cook gained complete control of Apple.

Under the leadership of Tim Cook Apple has reached great heights and launched many innovative products and services like Apple Watch, AirPods, HomePod, and MacBooks.

Various products and services provided by Apple are as follows :

Macintosh: The Mac was a personal computer lineup built by Apple that used the Mac OS operating system. It includes various products like iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro, Mac studio, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air.

iPhone: the iPhone was the lineup of smartphones that were initially launched by the late Steve jobs. It has a separate operating system that uses iOS apart from Android. The iPhone generated a huge amount of profit for the company. The latest series includes the iPhone 13 series.

iPad: The iPad is the Apple lineup of tablets that run on iPad OS. It promotes multitasking on a large screen. Till now Apple has sold more than 500 million iPads all over the world.

Watch and Accessories: Apple has also made several accessories for the products like Apple Watch which is a fitness wearable it can perform many other functions as well. Other accessories include Airpods and HomePods.

Services: Apple also provides a bunch of services for its products like iCloud, Apple books, Apple fitness, Apple Music, iTunes Apple TV plus, etc.
