    AFCAT Eligibility Criteria 2024 – Nationality

    Candidates must be Indian citizens to apply for AFCAT positions that the Indian Air Force has released. Applications for the Class-I gazetted officers in flying and ground Duties (technical and non-technical) posts will not be accepted from candidates who are nationals of foreign countries. Additionally, take note that the Indian Citizenship Act of 1955 will be reviewed.

    AFCAT Eligibility Criteria 2024 – Age Limit

    For all applicants to the Flying Branch, the AFCAT age limit is 20 to 24 years old. To apply for the exam, one must be born between January 02, 2001, and January 01, 2005. However, candidates who possess the most recent, valid Commercial Pilot License granted by the DGCA are eligible for a two-year relaxation.

    The AFCAT age limit for the ground duty technical and non-technical branch is 20 to 26 years old, with no applicant being exempt. Anyone born on January 02, 2000, or January 01, 2005, is qualified to apply for these positions.

    AFCAT Eligibility 2024 – Physical and Medical Requirements

    It is recommended that candidates be in good physical condition upon reporting for the SSB to take the AFSB examinations. For both male and female candidates, the AFCAT exam eligibility will be covered in this section.

    AFCAT Total Attempts

    Applicants that fall within the 20–26 age range are eligible to try all of the attempts. Two times a year, AFCAT is held. Thus, the maximum number of attempts is 16 times. 2 attempts per year for the AFCAT (total of 8 attempts) and 2 attempts annually for other exams. 

    AFCAT Eligibility 2024- Grounds of Rejection

    The following reasons may be cited to reject a candidate’s application:

    • Applicants will not be permitted to apply for the Flying Branch if they are a Flight Cadet suspended from Air Force Academy flying school or if they have previously failed the Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS).
    • The National Defence Academy, Indian Military Academy, Air Force Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai, and Officers Training Academy Gaya are among the institutions where candidates who were accepted to a previous term but were expelled for lack of discipline are not permitted to apply.
    • Candidates will not be eligible to take the AFCAT, and if accepted, their candidature will be annulled, if the Ministry of Defence has forbidden them from holding any kind of commission in the Defense Services.
    • Applicants who are still pending proceedings against them or who have been found guilty of any crimes are not eligible to apply.

    AFCAT Eligibility Criteria 2024 for NCC Flying Branch Special Entry

    Under AFCAT, individuals with a valid NCC Air Wing Senior Division “C” certificate can join the Flying Branch of the Indian Air Force through the NCC (National Cadet Corps) special entry program.
