Last Updated :

The isOverlap() method of java.time.zone.ZoneOffsetTransition class is used to check if there is an overlapping in between the transition or not.
Syntax:
public boolean isOverlap()
Parameter: this method does not accept any parameter.
Return Value: This method returns true if there is an overlapping in between the transition or not.
Below are the examples to illustrate the isOverlap() method:
Example 1:
Java
import java.util.*;
import java.io.*;
import java.time.*;
import java.time.chrono.*;
import java.time.zone.*;
public class GFG {
public static void main(String[] argv)
{
LocalDateTime loc
= LocalDateTime.of(
1999 , 04 , 25 ,
03 , 24 , 59 , 0 );
ZoneOffset off1
= ZoneOffset.ofHoursMinutes( 0 , 8 );
ZoneOffset off2
= ZoneOffset.ofTotalSeconds( 9 );
ZoneOffsetTransition zonetrans1
= ZoneOffsetTransition.of(
loc, off1, off2);
boolean status = zonetrans1.isOverlap();
if (status)
System.out.println(
"there is an overlapping");
else
System.out.println(
"no overlapping found");
}
}
|
Output:
there is an overlapping
Example 2:
Java
import java.util.*;
import java.io.*;
import java.time.*;
import java.time.chrono.*;
import java.time.zone.*;
public class GFG {
public static void main(String[] argv)
{
LocalDateTime loc
= LocalDateTime.of(
1999 , 04 , 25 ,
03 , 24 , 59 , 0 );
ZoneOffset off1
= ZoneOffset.ofTotalSeconds( 8 );
ZoneOffset off2
= ZoneOffset.ofTotalSeconds( 12 );
ZoneOffsetTransition zonetrans1
= ZoneOffsetTransition.of(
loc, off1, off2);
boolean status = zonetrans1.isOverlap();
if (status)
System.out.println(
"there is an overlapping");
else
System.out.println(
"no overlapping found");
