The SAT exam has a total score range of 400 to 1600, which combines the scores from two major sections:

  1. Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: This section is scored between 200 and 800. It includes:
    • Reading Test: You’ll answer questions based on passages to assess your reading comprehension skills.
    • Writing and Language Test: This tests your grammar and usage, punctuation, and understanding of sentence structure and context.
  2. Math: This section is also scored between 200 and 800. It covers a range of math topics including algebra, problem-solving, data analysis, and some advanced math concepts.

The scores from these two sections are added together to give you your total SAT score. Each section’s score is calculated based on the number of correct answers you provide There is no penalty for guessing, so your score will not be reduced for incorrect answers.
