Since school days I have been planning to give UPSC CSE attempt. I completed my graduation in 2020. After graduation I worked for 2 years as a Software Developer. Parallelly with job I tried to study for the exam but I used to get so exhaust by the end of the day and couldn’t study anything.
So I made the hardest decision in my life to resign from the job and stated full time preparation for UPSC but after few months I gave my first attempt in 2023 and I couldn’t clear the prelims stage also. The reason was very well clear to me :

  • No guidance
  • No strategy
  • Just a few months preparation

Finally I decided to look for guidance and coaching. I couldn’t afford to move to Delhi and opt for offline classes over there. All my savings would have got exhausted. So I decided to enroll in some online classes and that too for mains only. And by exploring over the internet one day I got to know about VisionIAS Daksha Mains Mentoring Program.
I immediately enrolled in the course without giving a second thought.

It was a 6 month program. Batches were made comprising of 25-30 students each. A mentor was assigned to us. A schedule was provided, we used to have sessions on Google meet. Each session was associated with a particular subject of mains GS Paper. Mentor used to discuss the Previous Years Questions (PYQ), the syllabus, approach to answer the questions and relevant resources which could be referred. The best part about the session was live answer writing and discussing the same with the peer members.

After the session of each subject we used to have a test for answer writing, we have to upload our answers on the portal and it was evaluated by the team and feedback was given to us. My mentor was always available on email and phone to resolve my queries , providing the feedback of my answers and giving mental support.
When the program came to an end we had a full length test for the each of the four GS Papers and the proper feedback was given to us.

I made the right choice“, this was my thought on the last day of the program. It helped me a lot in answer writing skills, analysis PYQs and understanding the UPSC exam.

I am giving another attempt this year in 2024. Lets see what’s there in my platter this time.
