Chinese Company Tencent is About to Launch ChatGPT-Like AI Chatbot

Tencent Holding the prominent Chinese company known for its social media and video gaming ventures, is gearing up to unveil its latest artificial intelligence (AI) foundation model named “Hunyuan.”

Li Qiang a vice president managing the Government and Enterprise Business division announced at an industry conference in Chongqing on Monday that the new model has undergone several months of internal testing and will be officially launched shortly.

This information was reported by the Chinese media outlet Beijing News. This decision followed Beijing’s announcement of its initial round of approvals for generative AI services in August.

These approvals granted the go-ahead to technology companies such as Baidu and AI specialists sense time to provide chatbots similar to ChatGPT to the public.

Tencent has shared a post describing a conversation with their AI chatbot. This chatbot can also help to write promotional content. China recently started approving AI chatbots for public use.

They are providing a library of models to their partners through Tencent Cloud’s model as a service offering and they are also improving their own foundational model. Ernie 3.5, the most recent release of Baidu’s AI chatbot, is much quicker than Ernie 3.0.

According to Li, a processing speed that is twice as fast and an efficiency that is 50% higher. Additionally, he stated that a new version would soon be released by the business.
