SRM University Admission Experience

Hello everyone! I’m an undergraduate student at SRM University, Kattankulathur, Chennai.

SRM University is a very good college for people who are determined and aim and want to be the best. For people who are not determined and with no goals it can be worse for them. It depends on what you choose. SRM is just a platform on which many opportunities come it is up to you to get these opportunities.

Admission :

First, you have to fill online application form from SRM’s official website for registration then apply for the Online Exam. SRM UNIVERSITY conducts An exam which is called as SRMJEE, which consists of 3 parts (Physics, chemistry, maths, ) and 1 optional part (Biology). Also, there is no negative marking in the exam. After the declaration of the result counseling process starts.

The most important thing here is attendance which should be above 75%. Coming to exams we have a total of 5 exams (CT-1, CT-2, CT-3, CT-4, End semester). Ct-1 comprises of Unit 1 syllabus and is a 25-mark written test. CT-2 and CT-3 have Unit-2 and Unit 3 Syllabus and is 50 marks written exam. Moreover, we have lab assessments which are based on the lab observation record and viva marks.

Placement and job opportunities are good if you are a CSE student and pursuing a B. tech from the KTR campus. Many multi-national companies came for placement such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc. There are also mass recruitment companies such as Infosys and TCS.

There are 2 main fest- AARUSH and MILAN. AARUSH is a technical fest where as MILAN is a cultural fest. AARUSH is the biggest technical fest related to science and technology in India, in which many celebrities and stand-up comedian come. On the other hand, MILAN is a cultural fest related to fashion, art and dance. During the events many workshops and competitions are organized related to coding, dance gaming, etc. Also, there are many other small events that are celebrated.

The teaching methodology is good here, here teacher cares about you. Teachers are well qualified they have master’s degree in their subjects. Although the faculty are good here you can feel some kind of language understanding problem because most of the faculty are Tamil speaking.

The gender ratio is 1:2 here there are more males as compared to females. Life in SRM is good until unless you didn’t do drugs or drinking. Drinking and smoking inside campus is not permitted and if you caught doing drugs then you are expelled from college. Their is huge student diversity such as you can find north Indian, middle Indian, student from all states, Tamil people, Telugu people and also you can find NRI student from different countries such as Afghanistan, Egypt, south Africa, etc.
