p5.js | soundFormats() Function

The soundFormats() function is an inbuilt function in p5.js library. This function is used to store the array of sound file format extension. Like .mp3, .ogg, .wav, etc. You have to upload all the format in your server the client browser supported format will be chosen from this array and will play it.

Syntax:

soundFormats( formats )

Note: All the sound-related functions only work when the sound library is included in the head section of the index.html file.

Parameter: This function accepts a single parameter as mentioned above and described below:

  • formats: This parameter holds the string of the file format like ‘mp3’, and it is an optional parameter.

Below example illustrates the p5.js soundFormat() function in JavaScript:
