Node Jimp | flip

Introduction : The flip() function is an inbuilt function in Nodejs | Jimp which flips the image horizontally or vertically. Default settings are to flip the image horizontal. 
 

Syntax: 

flip(h, v, cb)

Parameter: 

  • h – This parameter takes a boolean value, if true the image will be flipped horizontally.
  • v – This parameter takes a boolean value, if true the image will be flipped vertically.
  • cb – This is an optional parameter which is invoked when compilation is complete.

Input Images: 
 



 

Setup Environment : 

npm init -y

Install Dependencies : 

npm install jimp

Example 1:

// npm install --save jimp
// import jimp library to the environment
var Jimp = require('jimp');
 
// User-Defined Function to read the images
async function main() {
  const image = await Jimp.read
// flip function also known as mirror function
  image.flip(true, false)
  .write('flip1.png');
}
 
main();
  console.log("Image Processing Completed");

Example 2: With h, v and cb (optional parameters)

// npm install --save jimp
// import jimp library to the environment
var Jimp = require('jimp');
 
// User-Defined Function to read the images

  const image = await Jimp.read
// flip function using callback function
  image.flip(true, true, function(err){
    if (err) throw err;
  })
  .write('flip2.png');

main();
  console.log("Image Processing Completed");
