National Defence Academy (NDA) Exam Experience

It was my third attempt as i got to know about the pattern and and topics from where the questions are asked. Being lazy about learning current affairs makes it tough for you to crack that exam.

It consists of two papers and a short interval in between:

First paper consists of math . I read that if you clear cutoff for math then only you next phase paper will be checked. So having less marks in maths can be a reason for you to not to qualify that exam. Talking about math paper ; everytime i attempted the exam toughness of paper was consistant. It consists of medium and easy level problems mostly. Most of the topics i remember are probability, vectors , trigonometry, differentiation and integration, limits, continuity, differentiability, conic sections etc. Qustions can be said to be of ncert level. I preferred preparing from a “Arihant ” book which was specially for NDA exam.

After that it was a break for which i brought lunch. I enjoyed my food, bell rang and we went back to write the second paper. It consisted of English, Physics, a little bit of chemistry & Biology, and Current affairs.

I would say current affairs is the thing which felt difficult to me. I only attempted two questions of current affairs. It should be noted that physics, chemistry and Biology questions of NDA paper are the easiest part. I attempted almost all science questions.

If you have a good command on English language, it also becomes very easy for you. Word meaning part becomes little confusing but rest are good.

I suggest if you want to crack NDA exam you have to first preapare for math paper specially previous year papers. Study Physics from ncert and English from “Arihant” book. Chemistry and Biology qustions are very less in number.Both collectively may count of 5 to 6 questions. And of easy level.

Cracking NDA exam becomes easy if you are preparing for JEE Mains exam. After cracking written examination I suggest joining a good coaching to preapare for SSB which is the toughest part of NDA exam.

A final tip:

If your exam is soon just try to attempt 4 to 5 NDA previous year paper in day time because, time management is necessary in exams like NDA.
