MotorQ Interview Experience for Internship (On-Campus)

MotorQ came for hiring in October 2019 on our campus for a 2-month Internship. I had a total of 3 rounds (1 online + 2 technical ). Here is my interview experience for the same.

Round 1 (Coding) 60 minutes: One Hard Problem was asked which was a variation of the sliding window. I scored 50 out of 70marks which proved to be sufficient to move on to the next round.

Round 2 (Interview Round 1) 60 minutes:

• Duplicate Number  I put forward a different approach using bitset, the interviewer was satisfied with my approach.
• Frequency of number in sorted array I solved this problem with best time complexity.

Round 3 (Interview Round 2) 90 minutes: Asked a hard problem related to greedy and constructive. The problem statement was very ambiguous, it was something like there are n bulbs, and we have to perform minimum operations to switch off all light bulbs considering we can swap lights containing inside k-size window at a time. I struggled with this problem and took some hints to come up with an optimal approach.

Result: Rejected 

In the last Tech Round I struggled a lot, that may be the reason I was not considered for the further rounds.
