Matplotlib is a library in Python and it is numerical – mathematical extension for NumPy library. It is an amazing visualization library in Python for 2D plots of arrays and used for working with the broader SciPy stack.

Matplotlib.axis.Axis.set_default_intervals() Function

The Axis.set_default_intervals() function in axis module of matplotlib library is used to set the default limits for the axis data and view interval.

Syntax: Axis.set_default_intervals(self)

Parameters: This method does not accepts any parameters.

Return value: This method does not return any value.

Below examples illustrate the matplotlib.axis.Axis.set_default_intervals() function in matplotlib.axis:

Example 1:

Python3

# Implementation of matplotlib function
from matplotlib.axis import Axis
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
import numpy as np

fig = plt.figure()

x = np.linspace(0,4*np.pi,100)
y = 2*np.sin(x)

ax = fig.add_subplot()
ax.plot(x,y)

ax.xaxis.set_default_intervals()

ax.grid()

fig.suptitle("""matplotlib.axis.Axis.set_default_intervals()
function Example\n""", fontweight ="bold")

plt.show()

Output:

Example 2:

Python3

# Implementation of matplotlib function
from matplotlib.axis import Axis
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
import numpy as np

np.random.seed(10**7)
geeks = np.random.randn(40)

fig, ax = plt.subplots()
ax.acorr(geeks, usevlines = True,
         normed = True, maxlags = 9,lw = 3)

ax.grid(True)

ax.xaxis.set_default_intervals()

fig.suptitle("""matplotlib.axis.Axis.set_default_intervals()
function Example\n""", fontweight ="bold")

plt.show()

Output:
