GeeksforGeeks is engaged in the business of imparting online Technical Education platforms for the Students and Professional and that through which it offers Free Tutorials, Millions of Articles, Live/Online and Classroom Courses, Frequent Coding Competitions, Webinars by Industry Experts, Internship opportunities and Job Opportunities etc.

This Policy applies to all your activities on the GFG website & app, or for any other Services. It applies to the mentor once they have been provided with the Offer Letter or the Master Service Agreement. Your Service Agreement or the Offer Letter is subject to any changes made in this User Policy.

MENTOR ONBOARDING

CREATING ACCOUNT:

When setting up and maintaining your account, you must provide and continue to provide accurate and complete information, including a valid email address. You have complete responsibility for your account and everything that happens on your account, including for any harm or damage (to us or anyone else) caused by someone using your account without your permission. This means you need to be careful with your password. You may not transfer your account to someone else or use someone else’s account. If you contact us to request access to an account, we will not grant you such access unless you can provide us with the information that we need to prove you are the owner of that account. In the event of the death of a user, the account of that user will be closed.

You may not share your account login credentials with anyone else. You are responsible for what happens with your account and GFG will not intervene in disputes between mentor and any third party to whom account login credentials have been shared. You must notify us immediately upon learning that someone else may be using your account without your permission (or if you suspect any other breach of security) by contacting our Support Team. We may request some information from you to confirm that you are indeed the owner of your account.

You agree and undertake to provide true, correct, accurate and complete information, including your:

  1. Name
  2. Email
  3. Phone number
  4. Account Details

In addition, from time to time, based on the Services availed or Contribution made by you, we may request for additional information such as your address, financial information, and educational qualifications. Please do not share your Account details, personal information with others.

PAYMENTS

We agree to pay the fees for content that you have been able to successfully submit to us and the content has been accepted from our end. The payment will be governed as per the service agreement with the user. 

TDS at the applicable rates under Section 194J of the Income Tax Act 1961 will be deducted by the Company before any payments are made.

The Mentor must have a PAN Card and an account in an Indian Bank to receive payments from the Company, otherwise you will be subject to TDS at a higher applicable rate.

No payments will be made to bank accounts in Foreign Countries.

The account details given by the Mentor shall strictly belong to the person who is entering into the Contract, if the said account details provided does not belong to the party to the contract, that shall lead to instant Termination of the Service Agreement without giving any prior notice by GFG.

OWNERSHIP OF WORK PRODUCT 

The Mentor agrees that all work product, information or other materials created and developed by them in connection with the performance of the Services and any resulting intellectual property rights are the sole and exclusive property of GFG and that the second party shall not have any ownership claim on any such product.

The Mentor acknowledge that the Work Product shall, to the extent permitted by law, be considered a “work made for hire” within the definition under Copyright Act of 1957, as amended, (the “Copyright Act”) and that GFG is deemed to be the author and is the owner of all copyright and all other rights therein. If the work product is not deemed to be a “work made for hire” under the Copyright Act, then Contributor hereby assigns to GFG all of Independent Contractor’s and Intern’s rights, title and interest in and to the Work Product, including but not limited to all copyrights, publishing rights and rights to use, reproduce and otherwise exploit the Work Product in any and all formats, media, or all channels, whether now known or hereafter created.  

TRUST AND SAFETY:

You agree to abide by this policy, and other content quality standards or policies prescribed by GFG, from time to time. You should check these policies periodically to ensure that you comply with any updates to them. You understand that your use of the Services is subject to GFG’s approval, which we may grant or deny at our sole discretion.

We reserve the right to remove content, suspend payouts, and/or ban instructors for any reason at any time, without prior notice, including in cases where:

  1. You do not comply with our policies or legal terms.
  2. Your content falls below our quality standards or has a negative impact on the student experience.
  3. If you engage in behavior that might reflect unfavorably on GFG or bring GFG into public disrepute, contempt, scandal, or ridicule.
  4. If you engage in the services of a marketer or other business partner who violates GFG’s policies.
  5. If you use the Services in a way that constitutes unfair competition, such as promotion of their off-site business in a way that violates GFG’s policies.

Guidelines for Mentors

For Live/ Offline Classes

1. The first four sessions of these classes are compulsory for the Second Party and they cannot reschedule these classes. 

2.During the First four sessions, In case of any emergency situation for the Second Party, they can reschedule the class but for that there shall be reduction in their payments.

a. If the Second Party informs regarding the rescheduling before 24 hrs of the class then there shall be deduction of payment of one class from their total amount.

b. If the Second Party informs regarding the rescheduling within 24 hrs of the class or at the very last moment then there shall be deduction of payment of two classes from their total amount.

3. After the four sessions of these classes are completed then in case of any emergency situation for the Second Party then they can reschedule the class but with certain conditions as explained below. 

a. If the Second Party informs regarding the rescheduling before 24 hours then there shall be no deduction in their payments if they provide sufficient reason for the same to the concerned team. 

b. If the Second Party informs regarding the rescheduling within 24 hours then there shall be deduction of payment of one class from their total amount. 

4. The Second Party is only allowed to reschedule a total number of two classes in the entire course duration.

TERMINATION

The Second Party is not allowed to terminate the agreement in between and if the Second Party wishes to do so due to any reason, the Second Party will have to compensate the First Party by paying 50 Percent of the entire amount decided for the said project. Under such circumstances the First Party is not be liable to make any Payments to the Second Party.

This Agreement may be terminated:-

  1. By First Party for a material breach of any provision of this Agreement by the Second Party. 
  2. By the Company at any time and without prior notice, if the Second party is convicted of any crime or offense, falls or refuses to comply with the written policies or reasonable directives of the Company, or is guilty of serious misconduct In connection with performance under this Agreement.
  3. If the Second Party reschedules three continuous classes then the first party will terminate their contract. 

Legal Terms

The terms of this Policy is like any other contract, and they have important legal terms that protect us from the countless things that could happen and that clarify the legal relationship between us and you. These Terms, and any rights and licenses granted hereunder, may not be transferred or assigned by you, but may be assigned by the Company without restriction.
