We all know JEE is one of the toughest exams in our country. Lakhs of students fill out forms every year. Only a few of them are selected for the next round which is JEE Advance. The students who get a good rank in JEE Advance, enter IIT college and those who good rank in main, choose NIT college.

Format of the exam:

JEE MAIN:

In JEE Main, as per the current exam pattern, there are 90 questions. 30 questions from chemistry,30 questions from physics,30 questions from math. In each subject, there will be 20 question of multiple-choice questions means you have given four options, and you have to pick the right answer. 10 questions will be integer type but you have the option to select any five questions. You have been given a blank space in each integer type question and you have to fill your answer in that space.

Each question contains four positive marks and one negative mark means if you give the correct answer you will get four marks otherwise if you attempt that question and choose your answer and your answer is wrong then your marks will be deducted by one. In this way, the total marks of the exam is 300. The total time given to you to solve your paper is 3 hours. This is conducted online. You have to reach your centre and at the right time, your question paper appears and a timer starts on your screen and when time is over, it automatically submits.

JEE ADVANCE:

It is an exam of six hours and is conducted in two shifts. Each shift is 3 hours. The marking scheme and maximum marks will be known in the exam hall. In this exam, multiple-choice, integer-type questions will be asked. There will be more than one option correct in one question and if you select the right one then you will get a mark and for the wrong answer, your mark will be deducted by one. In some questions, there are -2 marks for wrong answers.

Example– suppose in a question of four marks, there are two correct options and if you choose the first correct answer, then you will get one mark. If you choose one wrong and one right option, you will get a -1 mark or two right and one wrong options, also get a -1 mark. So, select only the right answer that you know correctly.

Most of the time, there are 54 questions in each shift and 18 questions from each subject. Total marks also vary each year, but it is greater than 300.

For tests, you can prefer the NTA Test app where the question pattern is the same as asked in the exam. Here you prepare a topic-wise chapter. You can choose your coaching’s test series.

JEE Advance:

The only thing you can do, you choose the most important chapter and do PhD in those topics. Remember, questions will be asked in very deep on any topic. So, if you do have in-depth knowledge of the topic, you will not be able to solve it.

Previous year questions are also important. So, for practice, you can use these questions otherwise you can choose your coaching module.

During the preparation, revision is most important, so, you can make a short note of each chapter. In this short note, you will write important formulas and some important approaches.

To increase your calculation speed, you should remember to table till 25, square till 30, cube till 20, square of e, pie, root till 10 etc.

For inorganic chemistry, you have to revise each chapter each day with the help of your short note so that each exception, colour, and chemical equation is at your fingertips.
