I am JEE aspirant of JEE 2023. Just like you guys I had also joined a coaching centre near my house, it was like 4 km away from my home and 8 km away from the school where I Studied. I was an average student, who had taken science in 11th just because it was one of the elite branches and regretted it later on when I was in 11th still managed to score decent marks in JEE and Board and I got admitted in one of the best engineering colleges of Gurgaon.

25th March 2023 was the day when me and my schoolmates assembled in the school to see our class’s 11th mark sheets and I already knew that I would fail in almost every subject. Luckily I failed in the main subjects only PCM (Physics chemistry and Mathematics). I was already known of the fact that I was going to fail the examination as the preparation was zero as our batch was the COVID-19 batch. It was the first time in my entire life that I failed. While returning home I was frightened and was completely shattered. I knew that my parents would scold me badly.

When I returned home I realized that my Dad had booked a demo class in one of the coaching centres nearby. I took my bicycle and went there. I was quite happy after seeing the atmosphere over there. The children of other schools had received their results but they were passed as their school gave them a concession. I was depressed and had lost all hope in PCM. After 5 days me and my Dad went to the PTM and I found out that I had to re-appear in the examinations. I was completely frightened, the syllabus of the entire 11th class was pending but my parents helped me out and luckily I cleared them in a month or so.

After passing the examinations I was admitted to the coaching center nearby where I went to take a demo class. I was quite happy that day. At that stage, I had a backlog of the entire unit 1 of every subject. I was again tensed, but somehow I managed to complete that backlog. I went to the school, it was my first day and I along with others who failed were humiliated in front of the whole class. This humiliation continued till board exams.

I had lost all confidence in myself, but then my tuition teacher helped me out, he counselled me and helped me cover my backlog. He used to motivate me so that I regain my confidence in myself and begin a new life. I was ready for the same but my school so called friends never let me come out of the incident. I became very unstable in life and failed in class 12 internal examination as well, at that time I ended up making excuses that I had Backlogs, but the reality was I lost interest in my studies completely.

My supervisory head called my parents at home and told them (“mein jab bhi isko dekhti hu na aisa lagta kitna sweet sa pyaara sa bacha hai kaha phas gya padhai likhai mein”). My parents again scolded me and I kept on losing confidence. The coaching class became a stress burster for me as I made good friends and the teachers used to motivate me a lot and it was the only place where I was not scolded or humiliated. I used to enjoy it a lot. It was the only motivation for me to get up in the morning and go to school where I was humiliated for almost a year.

While preparing for JEE, apart from the syllabus I learned a lot of life lessons.

  • Maintain consistency (“thoda padho but achaa padho”)
  • Motivation is temporary(“use it when you reach the stage of suicide”)
  • No one can teach you better than you.
  • Focus more on week points rather than wasting time on what you already know
  • Do n number of sample paper for boards
  • Do n number of MCQs for JEE
  • Believe in yourself, you know the best and don’t get influenced by others in the examination hall
  • You are the best
  • Listen more, write more, do written practice, and speak less
  • You do not need an IIT to be successful, if you maintain consistency in whichever field you are working you will be successful
  • Always have alternatives ready (BTECH AND…………)
  • Schedule your studies
  • Dont completely rely on coaching
  • NCERT is compulsory(Read every line)
  • Do only those questions in JEE that you are 100 per cent sure of
  • Maintain discipline (remove the distraction-causing elements)
  • Respect time
  • For entertainment do physical activities
  • Friends are also materialistic they lose you when you are facing a downfall
  • Hard work pays off

These were the key learnings that I learned in my 12th class, it was the session that changed me completely.

IF I CAN THEN YOU CAN ALSO.
