After Snapchat, Instagram, a well-known social media platform, is getting ready to launch its own IG AI chatbot that will engage with users and will have 30 personalities ingrained.

Popular social networking platform Instagram has always been at the forefront of innovation. Instagram has continuously changed to offer a better user experience, from adding filters and stories to integrating e-commerce capabilities. Instagram is currently working on its very own chatbot, following Snapchat’s lead.

According to the mobile developer and reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram is supposedly working on introducing an artificial intelligence chatbot to direct messages (DMs) for a more entertaining and engaging experience.

He also posted screenshots to Twitter that showed the platform’s intentions to include AI bots in the chat interface. With a choice of up to 30 different personas, the chatbots are anticipated to respond to user questions and offer guidance.

There have been no official pronouncements from Meta in this regard. However, AI chatbots appear to be consistent with previous statements made by the firm regarding its AI goals.

Paluzzi’s tweet included a screenshot that shows how the chatbot can assist users in writing messages when speaking with others. Another screenshot demonstrated the ability to send a direct message to the chatbot by using the ‘@’ sign.

In a Facebook article from the end of February, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that the firm is working on several generative AI tools across the organization, including “developing AI personas that can help people in a variety of ways.” Zuckerberg notes that the business is investigating the integration of AI with text interactions like WhatsApp and Messenger, but he doesn’t specifically reference Instagram in the piece.

By far, there are many unknowns regarding the platform’s implementation of the adjustments and the integration of the AI chatbot into its application. The report further implies that the chatbot would function quite similarly to Snapchat.

Instagram is also developing a text-based platform to compete with Twitter, a well-known microblogging service. Although there isn’t an official date set yet, the launch of this platform is anticipated to take place later this month.

The integration of AI chatbots into Instagram’s messaging platform has the power to transform user interactions and open up new channels for engaging with users and providing personalized support.

The quick photo-video sharing platform, owned by Meta, may offer users automated comments and recommendations across a range of themes and settings by introducing AI agents, enhancing the site’s engagement.
