Google Launches ‘Play Pass’ Subscription in India

Finally on Monday Google launched its “Play Pass” feature from the Play Store section in India. After its launch and success in the US in the year 2019 September, the same has been brought in the Indian market for android users, where it will offer 1,000 applications and games without advertisement.

The android users can use the free service for a month and then can subscribe to it for ₹99 per month. Play Pass is also available annually at the price of ₹889 and also as a prepaid plan for ₹109 per month. The feature is also available for family groups and if one person in the family has subscribed to it then he/she can pass it on to five members using the Google Family Group.

Play Pass includes many attractive games and services for subscribers from various genres, including puzzles, games, sports, action games, such as jungle adventures, monument valley, etc. Many advance level applications will be available like Photo Studio Pro, Unit Converter, Utter, AudioLab, etc. In order to start your trial, you just need to go to the Google Play Store and click on your profile, once it is open look for the Play Pass option and follow the instruction. Once it is done you will have the access to use all the applications and games available there.

Apart from this one thing that the users need to keep in mind is that they must have Android version of 4.4 and Google Play Store app version 16.6.25 or above. If your phone does not support the above-mentioned attributes then you will not be able to access the subscription. Along with this, there is one more condition – you must have a valid payment method linked to your Google account in order to successfully subscribe to the service.

The company said in its statement, 

“Play Pass will offer a high-quality and curated collection of over 1,000 titles across 41 categories from developers across 59 countries, including many from India. Users can get started with a one-month trial and subscribe for Rs 99 per month or Rs 889 for the year. Users can also avail a prepaid one-month subscription for Rs 109.”

Play Pass is similar to Apple Arcade from where Apple users can subscribe to several gaming titles. Although Play Pass comes with the additional feature of applications and is available in 90 countries with access to over 1000 add free applications.

Google India, Play Partnerships director Aditya Swamy said,

Google Play Pass is the initiative by Google to provide the users with the best quality applications and games. It will allow users to use every application without any interruption. Although Google Play is an online store for android users from where they can download numerous applications, games, magazines, books, and much more. It provides access to 2 million apps and can be used from any time anywhere.
