GGSIPU BCA Entrance Exam Experience

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University or GGSIPU is a State University located in Dwarka, Delhi. Many colleges are under GGSIPU that provide different courses across various streams like B.Tech, BCA, B.Com, BBA, BA(JMC), etc.

So, after my 12th was over and the results were out and like every other student, I started searching that which college would be best for me. I had also given JEE Mains but got a decent rank in it due to which I couldn’t get Computer Science Or IT Branch and was getting Electrical, and Mechanical Branch in different colleges of IPU and other private colleges. So, I decided that I should appear for BCA entrance rather than take the electrical, and mechanical branch in which I had no interest. After GGSIPU rolled out the forms for BCA entrance, I quickly checked all the details of whether I was eligible, what is the registration fees, which sections were being asked in this exam, and so on. I filled out the form and started preparing for it. While I was preparing for the exam, I faced many difficulties that whether I would clear the exam with a good rank or not, whether I would get a good college or not. But with the help of my parents and friends, I prepared for the exam very diligently.

It was September 2020 when I appeared for the BCA entrance exam. Overall, it was a medium-level exam in which questions were asked in English, Mathematics, Computer, and General Science. One can easily crack this exam if their basics are strong. The only section in which you had to work a little harder is Mathematics, the rest of the sections are easy. So, the results were out after a month (as far as I remember), and I secured a good rank that landed me into one of the top colleges of BCA. Now, I will be sharing some important details regarding this exam:

Highlights of the GGSIPU BCA Entrance Exam

1. Mode of Exam: It is a Computer Based Test (CBT).
2. Time Allotted: It is a 2 hour and 30 minutes long exam (150 minutes).
3. Subjects: English, Mathematics, Computer Awareness, and General Science.
4. Marking Scheme: You will be awarded 4 marks for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
5. Number of Questions: There are a total of 150 Questions.

Syllabus of GGSIPU BCA Entrance Exam

1. English: Reading comprehension, antonyms and synonyms, jumbled words, fill in the blanks, etc.
2. Mathematics: Questions can be from the 10th, 11th, and 12th classes.
3. Computer: Questions can be asked from computer basics such as CPU, hardware, software, and other questions that can be asked related to input/output devices, binary/hexadecimal/octal conversions, etc.
4. General Science: Questions can be asked from the science subject that you had studied in 7th class or 8th class. Also, they can ask basic computer questions related to hardware, software, some full forms, etc.
