GDSC Interview Experience for Lead

If you want to be a GDSC Lead of your college, you have to check whether your college has a chapter or not. Anyways, the application process is the same. So I applied for the same through the respective portal. The application was opened on 23 February 2023. To be a GDSC Lead you can be from the 1st/2nd/3rd year of engineering. Check the eligibility criteria before applying. In the application portal, there were few essay-type questions and you have to submit a video resume. This stage is one of the important stages.

After a few days, I got the test link. This test consists of Aptitude Questions and CS Fundamentals. If your basics are clear it’s a cakewalk for you. I practiced aptitude from GFG and for the fundamentals, there is no such syllabus. The level of this round will be easy to moderate.

After this round, I waited. Finally, I got the mail for my interview. There were slots, I chose my preferred slot for the interview. I got the link in my mail.

Interview Day:

On the interview day, I was nervous. I joined the meeting 5 minutes beforehand. The interviewer joined at sharp 12:30 pm. He started with some introductory questions like Tell me about yourself, what are your strengths and weakness, and why do you want to become the lead? In the application, I mentioned my achievements and my extracurricular activities. How passionate I am and the changes that I will bring to the table, after these questions I was asked about my projects and technical skills. He asked me my preferred programming language and a few questions about Data structures, like what is an array, what is linked list is, and the time complexity of different algorithms. He was impressed with my answers. Lastly, I was asked what is my aim in life and how I will run the community if I get selected. I talked about my goals and wishes. He asked me if I do have a few questions for him. My interview lasted for 25-30 minutes. My interview was scheduled for 5th May.

After the interview, I waited for a few months. Finally, I got the mail on 16 July that I got selected as the GDSC Lead of my campus, Guru Nanak Institute of Technology Kolkata. I was super happy.
