Gautam Adani Becomes 6th Richest Person In World

Synopsis: Soaring share prices of Adani Group’s Adani Green Energy, Adani Enterprises, Adani Gas, and Adani Transmission on Monday resulted in the chairperson of the company’s wealth growing by Rs 65,091 crore. Reportedly, he is also the biggest wealth-gainer this year with his surging to almost $41.6 billion.

Founder and Chairperson of Adani Group’s fortune have taken a significant rise as he is named the World’s sixth-richest person and the only Indian on the list of World’s Top-10 Billionaires’. The business tycoon has surpassed Oracle’s Larry Ellison and Google’s Sergey Brin and Larry Page, claiming the sixth spot on the list, Bloomberg Billionaires Index mentions.

Soaring up of share prices of Adani Group’s Adani Green Energy, Adani Enterprises, Adani Gas, and Adani Transmission on Monday resulted in the chairperson of the company’s wealth growing by Rs 65,091 crore. Reportedly, he is also the biggest wealth-gainer this year with his surging to almost $41.6 billion.

Adani reportedly entered the $100 billion wealth club on April 4 and currently he is the only Indian on Bloomberg’s list of top 10 global billionaires list. Notably, Adani Group’s Adani Green Energy was spotted in the list of top-10 valued firms as the company’s market valuation surged by Rs 4.22 trillion.

Forbes real-times billionaires list mentions Gautam Adani & family’s net wealth of $121.3 billion. Although, this is not the first time when Adani has made it to the list of the world’s top 10 richest people, however, he has secured as high as the sixth spot for the first time. 

Meanwhile, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk continues to top the list being the world’s richest person with a whopping net wealth of $265.1 billion, followed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos whose current net wealth is recorded at $176.6 billion by Forbes.

Adani’s jump has made him overtake Mukesh Ambani who is the Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited and by doing so, Adani has become the richest Asian and Indian as well. Ambani is the 10th richest person in the world with a net wealth of $97.3 billion.

On the other hand, the Bloomberg billionaires list mentions Ambani as the eighth richest person in the world in terms of a net worth of $105 billion. Bloomberg however, ranks Ambani as the 11th richest person in the world. Here the ninth position is acquired by Microsoft’s Ballmer and Oracle’s Larry Ellison.
