Droopescan – CMS Based Web Applications Scanner

Droopescan tool is an automated script developed in the Python language which is used in the initial reconnaissance and information gathering phases. This tool gathers the CMS information which is been used by the target domain. This can include CMS type, version, themes, plugins, etc. This tool is also available on the GitHub platform for free and is open-source to use. So you can also become a contributor in this repository.

Installation of Droopescan  Tool on Kali Linux OS

Step 1: Use the following command to install the tool in your Kali Linux operating system.

git clone

Step 2: Now use the following command to move into the directory of the tool. You have to move in the directory in order to run the tool.

cd droopescan

Step 3: You are in the directory of the Droopescan . Now you have to install a dependency of the Droopescan using the following command.

sudo pip3 install -r requirements.txt

Step 4: All the dependencies have been installed in your Kali Linux operating system. Now use the following command to run the tool and check help section.

droopescan -h

Example 1: Scanning Target 1 (

droopescan scan joomla -u

We have possible interesting urls that contains information about CMS.

Example 2: Scanning Target 2 (

droopescan scan drupal -u

In this example, we have specified the target domain as

We have got the plugins list which are been used by the domain.

We have also got the Possible versions and interesting URLs list.

Example 3: Displaying Stats of tool

droopescan stats

In this example, we have displayed the overall stats of tool. This stats shows the supported CMS, Version details and other information.
