Boron is a chemical element that belongs to metalloid group in modern periodic table. It is the fifth element in the periodic table and the first among the metalloids. It has atomic number 5 and is denoted by the symbol B. It was discovered by scientist Joseph Louis Gay-Lussac in 1808.

The nucleus of this atom consists of six neutrons and five positively charged protons and five electrons.
