I will be completing my graduation from AITR, Indore by June 2024, where I pursued B.Tech in I.T . Overall, the college experience was filled with ups and downs at various stages. Because of the pandemic, I did not get to attend college for 1.5 years and missed all the perks that my juniors have but the rest time was spent there, filled with new experiences and learnings at every step.

About the campus:

The campus of Acropolis group has 4 buildings – Engineering (i.e. AITR), Management, Pharmacy, and Faculty of Computer Applications. My campus has modern classrooms, laboratories, an auditorium, a sports wing, a library, a career development cell, and a campus canteen that serves scrumptious meals.

First-Year Experience:

My first year of college was entirely online. The teachers were very supportive and taught every subject via Google Meet, provided notes over Google Classroom, and of course bulk of assignments. Even the labs were conducted regularly and the teacher and lab assistant used to conduct experiments at college and we used to watch it online. Our attendance was marked strictly, we often had to show our notes during the lecture in Google Meet. Although the extracurricular activities were halted teachers engaged us in Online debates, technical workshops, etc. Although the exams were open book and online our teacher ensured that we had good competition during vivas and assignment submission.

Second Year experience :

We were allowed to attend college in mid 3rd semester as most of us were vaccinated. Since the exams were online so some of our classmates continued to attend classes online. The real college began in 4th sem when online classes were completely shut and we made friends, joined various clubs at college, and bunked classes to go to the sports room and canteen. We were introduced to our seniors who helped us with studies and projects. We had classes of Career Development (CDC) from 4th Sem, where we were prepared for the G.D round and communication skills.

Pre-final year:

In pre-final year we were more involved in minor projects, research papers, and assignments. What interested us more was our senior’s placement stories and the recession’s impact. The CDC classes emphasized more on technical skills and we were focused on thinking about placement and higher studies. Then the time arrived when we attended the college fest “Sports Meet and Ardor 2023” for the first time. It is a 2-week long event with various sports activities, Dance and Music competitions, Graffiti, Kavi-Sammelan, and much more. These days were heaven for us.

Final year:

After 6th Sem, our special classes were conducted for placements, we had the choice to choose technologies like AWS, Salesforce, UI/UX, MERN etc., classes of aptitude and technical were the same for all. This training is held for about 2 months to prepare us for placement. In the final year, companies started to visit our campus and we were allowed an exemption from attending regular classes. I secured a job with a decent package from campus and most of my friends were placed.

I am writing this article with teary eyes waiting for my final exams and Farewell, spending the last month happily with my friends.
