With AI, Google Photos can now automatically group similar images and create albums for screenshots and document photos that are easy to access.

One of the most popular apps on Android is Google Photos. Google created it to offer a dedicated space for storing your media files. Now that it has the most recent version, it provides several new stack photo features.

“Stack” is a wonderful feature by Google for the Photos app, and now it has also been rolling out for Android users. It allows you to quickly and easily organize multiple photos simultaneously. These newly captured photos will merge into one seamless grid cell for everybody to see.

All the pictures in a group show up in a slideshow when you open it. You can swipe through them. A 2×2 button in front of the bottom “filmstrip” lets you see everything as a grid. You can clean up your library by selecting a different top pick, removing a photo from the collection, or keeping specific images and deleting the others.

To make use of AI in Photo Stacks, Google has included a vertical three-dot menu (horizontal on iOS) that users can use to toggle the “Stack similar photos” feature on and off.

Simultaneously, you have the option to select “Selected items only” (which only includes the top pick) or “Includes Photo stacks” (which includes everything) when sharing or adding frames to albums.

Another option is to “unstack an entire photo stack” by long-pressing on the stack and tapping “Unstack photos.” It will allow you to examine each photo in the primary grid separately.

Although it is still in its early stages of availability, Google has launched Photo Stacks to Android after first releasing it for iOS.

Features of “Stack”

Group similar photos with Photo Stacks

It may take more than one try to achieve the ideal photograph, whether you’re attempting to catch a stunning sunset or a big group portrait. However, your gallery can become bloated with all those additional shots. Similar photographs make up a third of most people’s galleries. Google Photographs can automatically sort your gallery by identifying and stacking pictures that were shot simultaneously or near each other into Photo Stacks, from which you may choose the best shot to capture any given moment. AI makes all of this possible, but you can always choose your picture as the top pick, change the stacks, or turn off picture Stacks to see everything in your Photos gallery.

Easily find and do more with your screenshots and documents

While screenshots have their uses, they also clog up your gallery, making it harder to see the important moments you’ve captured. Now, with the help of artificial intelligence, Google Photos can automatically sort your gallery’s screenshots and documents into more useful albums, such as those for identifying items, receipts, and events. When you need something specific, you won’t have to waste time scrolling through your entire photo library because of this.

Another great feature is adding helpful reminders to your calendar using images of tickets or event flyers. If you want to save a snapshot of a concert ticket for later use, you may do it easily by adding the image to your calendar and then clicking the “Set Reminder” button. Additionally, after 30 days, you can automatically archive your papers and screenshots. It will conceal them from your main gallery but make them available in their respective albums.
