There is a piece of good news for all WhatsApp users, the Meta-owned company is about to launch a new feature, which will allow all the users to share around 2GB of data in one go. Currently, the application only supports up to 100MB, but it could change and the users will be able to share bigger files. According to the reports, it is being said that the company is working on this new feature and it is being tested on some of the limited beta users in Argentina.

In addition to this, the report also says that the testing for the sharing of 2GB files is being done for both Android and iOS users.

The much-awaited feature of WhatsApp is really useful and the users always wanted this one as it will make things very convenient. However, WhatsApp is also testing so that they can provide everyone with the feature that is for both Android and iOS. Also, according to WABetaInfo, the feature will be available for iOS users most probably by this month, and by the next month, the same feature will be available for Android users too.

Since the start of WhatsApp, this is the second instance where the file transfer limit is being updated, as earlier it was updated from 16MB to 100MB.

Although the same varies for different platforms, such as for Android the limit is 100MB while for iOS users the limit is extended up to 128MB. However, it is interesting that WhatsApp is working towards this feature of file transferring, yet it is not the first application to do so, as Telegram is already providing this feature, there the users can share up to 1.5GB worth of data in a single go.

Beyond this update, WhatsApp is currently testing and trialing various features in order to strengthen its feature game and also to make things easy for the users. Among these features, the first one which was already rolled out last week is multi-device support. Apart from this, there are a few more features, which will be active very soon and include:

Message Reactions: This feature will be the same as the one present on Facebook and Instagram, where users are able to react to the messages with different reactions. The feature will be available for both group chat and individual messages and will have six reactions from which you can react by choosing your favorite.

Group Polls: This is again a new feature that WhatsApp is going to adopt, although the same is available on Telegram, and will be available on WhatsApp too. In this people will be able to create group polls and have several suggestions at a single time.

Hiding Last Seen: Although this feature is already available for everyone, now WhatsApp will be changing it a bit, and the users can hide their last seen from some specific contacts. Yes, now you can select the contacts and hide your last seen from them. You can select manually and enable or disable the contacts within your list.
