AAC stands for Advanced Audio Coding, it is a a lossy compression standard for digital audio
It is similar to an MP3 file but usually has better sound quality at the same bit rate. It is the default audio format for Apple devices, such as iPhones and iPads, and is also supported by many other devices and platforms.
