Early Life of Vishnu Deo Sai

Vishnu Deo Sai is the second tribal leader to hold the post of Chief Minister after Ajit Jogi &former union minister of steel, Mines, Labour, and Employment in 2014. He continued in the same Portfolio until 2019.

He began his political career in 1989, when was elected as a ‘panch’ of Bagia village panchayat. The next year became the sarpanch outstandingly.

The tribal politician served as the BJP’s Chhattisgarh chief from 2006 to 2010 and from January to August 2014. After the BJP lost power in the state in 2018, he was again taken responsibility for leading the party in Chhattisgarh in 2020.

Vishnu Deo Sai Political Career

Vishnu Deo Sai, a three-time head of the BJP’s Chhattisgarh unit, has demonstrated organizational prowess, earning trust from the central leadership. He ascended within the party ranks and became a member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first Council of Ministers in 2014. Known for his closeness to former Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh, Sai was first elected as an MLA in 1990 from Tapkara (Jashpur district) in Madhya Pradesh, securing the seat again in the 1993 assembly polls.
