Solved Examples on Tables 11 to 20

Example 1: If Kabir gets 16 rupees as pocket money a day then use the table of 16 to calculate how much money he gets in three days.

Solution:

Kabir gets rupees as pocket money = 16 per day

No. of days he get pocket money = 3 days

Total money he gets in 3 days = 3 × 16                {Using table of 16}

                                                 = 48 Rupees

Total money Kabir gets in three days is 48 Rupees.

Example 2: Simplify using the table of 15, 15 times 9 plus 15 times 3.

Solution:

By studying the table of two we know that,

15 times 9 = 15 × 9 = 135

15 times 3 = 15 × 3 = 45

Now,

15 times 9 plus 15 times 3

= 15 × 9 + 15 × 3

= 135 + 45

= 180

Example 3: Simplify using the table of 18, 18 times 7 minus 18 times 4.

Solution:

By studying the table of two we know that,

18 times 7 = 18 × 7 = 126

18 times 4 = 18 × 4 = 72

Now,

18 times 7 minus 18 times 4

= 18 × 7 – 18 × 4

= 126 – 72

= 54

Example 4: If Anisha earns 9 rupees in a day then how much did he earn in a fortnight?

Solution:

Money Anisha earns in a day = 9 Rupees

Days in a Fortnight = 14 days

Money earned by Anisha in a fortnight = 14 × 9

                                                             = 126 Rupees

Thus, Anisha earned 126 rupees in a fortnight.
