R.M.D. Engineering College Campus Experience

I am a current student from R.M.D. Engineering College and I are going to share my campus experience. Firstly, I Joined this college through Engineering counselling. Our College is a Part of the Prestigious R.M.K. Group of Institutions which is famous for its on-campus placements, Teaching, Food, etc. R.M.D. Engineering College is surrounded by Nature and Greenery, It is a perfect place to Study and Be Happy at the Same time.

About R.M.D. Engineering College

R.MD. Engineering College is an engineering college in Tamil Nadu, India, funded by the Sri Swaminatha Naidu Educational Trust. The college opened in 2001 with five departments: IT, CSE, AIML, ECE and CSBS. It is situated in Kavaripettai Next to RMK College Campus which is also a sister Institute under the RMK Group of institutions. The college is a Green Campus with a river and is located about 35 km from Chennai on the National Highway NH5 on the Chennai – Nellore-Kolkata Highway. The College is about a kilometre from Kavaraipettai railway station.RMD College is a Co-Educational Institution specializing in Engineering and Technology plus specialized post-graduate programs in Computer Applications, Business Administration and Computer Science & Engineering

Infrastructure

Our College is surrounded by Greenery and a lot of Labs and Buildings. It has a big Library with a Lot of Books from various domains like ECE, CSE, AIML, Etc. Our Campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled Which helps us access digital resources without any Interruption. The Labs are Highly Modern with a lot of Equipment. We have a Computer Bay where we have a lot of Computer Labs. Our College also Provides Transportation and Food. The Food is very Homely and Tasty. The College is awarded the ‘Food Safety Award’ for the years 2015-16 & 2016-17, in Thiruvallur District, by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of Tamil Nadu. The College is also Licensed under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 by FSSAI.

First-Year Experience

I First Joined this College on October 27, 2022. In the First Few Weeks, We would Have an Induction Program which is Specified to have interaction between Teachers and Inbetween Students. It is also to Revise some basics. We will have a great time during that program. We would also have Many Guest Lectures during the beginning. After the Induction period, we would have our normal classes according to our department. Our Teachers would put so much hard work into making us Understand. As a Bio student, I have no idea about programming but our College professor had us learn it very very easily. Then After that We Had our Exams. At first, all departments would have similar subjects. Then We also had Personality Classes, Entrepreneurship Classes, etc. We do have some Competition like the Science Day Competition in which The prize pool is 20K

Second-Year Experience

In the second year, we are shifted to our department. I am an ECE, so I was shifted to the ECE department. In the second year, we would have a lot of tests regarding our coding and we also had placement training in the second year itself. This is a very good move by our college to improve our knowledge about the placements. In the second year, the subjects are purely related to our Department. We also participate in a lot of Hackathon, Symposium, etc. Our college would encourage us to participate in this event and if we win this event, our college would provide some cash prizes also. Our college would provide scholarships to students who are excelling in academic performance.
