In this article we will see how we can pause the media in the MediaPlayer object in the python vlc module. VLC media player is a free and open-source portable cross-platform media player software and streaming media server developed by the VideoLAN project. MediaPlayer object is the basic object in vlc module for playing the video. We can create a MediaPlayer object with the help of MediaPlayer method. We can play the video with the help of play method.
In order to do this we will use set_pause method with the MediaPlayer object
Syntax : media_player.event_manager()
Argument : It takes integer as argument, play/resume if zero, pause if non-zero.
Return : It returns None
Below is the implementation
Python3
import vlc
import time
media_player = vlc.MediaPlayer()
media = vlc.Media("D:\\pych\\bhuvan\\death_note.mkv")
media_player.set_media(media)
media_player.play()
time.sleep( 5 )
media_player.set_pause( 1 )
|
Output : This video will play for 5 seconds then it will get paused Another example Below is the implementation
Python3
import vlc
import time
media_player = vlc.MediaPlayer()
media = vlc.Media(" 1mp4 .mkv")
media_player.set_media(media)
media_player.play()
time.sleep( 3 )
media_player.set_pause( 1 )
|
Output : Similarly this video will get played for 3 seconds then it got paused
