Kalvium posted the Opportunity for a Full-time Technical Mentor Role on various hiring portals. I have applied on Cuvette.

A few days After the application, they sent a mail regarding the orientation, soon after the orientation there was an aptitude test held, and people who cleared the cutoff were shortlisted for the GD, and selected students from the GD had Telephonic Interviews and a Video Interview as the final step.

Selection Procedure :

  • Aptitude Test ( English, Quantitative, Logical, Critical Thinking)
  • Group Discussion
  • Technical Discussion Round.
  • Mentorship Round
  • Cultural fit round

1. Orientation :

  • After application, A google form was sent to fill in the remaining information about skills, and asked to upload a resume and scheduled an orientation for giving a brief about the roles and responsibilities as well as about the organization.
  • Soon after the introduction, A test link was shared for the members present in the orientation to take an Aptitude test.
  • Basic to medium-level questions were asked in the test like speed and time, blood relations, identifying errors in the sentence, and some data-based questions.
  • Clearing the aptitude, I was invited to GD on the same day.

2. Group Discussion :

  • The Interviewer first mentioned the topic to discuss as “The future of AI” to discuss, but soon as the discussion appeared like a one way speech, The Interviewer asked us to speak on some favourite personal technical inventions that we like for 2-3 minutes.

  • It can be anything like an application or a service or some technology.

  • Most of them spoke about their favourite technology like cloud, blockchain, VR etc…

  • I have spoken about Online food and transportation apps like Uber, Rapido, Swiggy, Zomato etc and mentioned how they are creating new jobs, making food delivery easier, and transportation affordable and convenient etc.

After GD, if selected, a mail was sent to us regarding the topics we need to explain in the tech discussion round. A time of 2-4 hrs is given for preparing the topic.

3. Technical Discussion Round :

  • The topics were Merge sort and Quick sort, we need to explain the given array example and a few questions about that algorithm at the end. It is a simple round, just need to explain the concept for the given example and need to solve that problem.
  • After this, round, selected students got telephonic Interviews for the Mentorship round.

4. Mentorship Round (Telephonic Round) :

This was a telephonic round. First, she asked me to introduce myself. And then she asked about me apart from academics.
Then she started asking several case-based questions like how do you deal with a situation when there is a dispute in the class between students, what would you do if a girl student starts attracted to you etc to know your abilities to handle a conflict situation.

8-10 questions were asked and all questions are related to the classroom or academic-based scenarios.

5. Cultural Fit Round (Google Meet) :

This happened over google meet, starting with the introduction of both interviewee and myself. This was just like a casual chit chat like what are your hobbies, what recent movie you watched, why did you choose this role, what recent technology you learnt and how would you explain to a 10-year-old kid, your hurdles and how did you overcome and tell me about your life etc…

Finally, After 3 days I got a call regarding my selection and was offered a Full-time technical Mentor role after a 2 months Internship/Training Period.

Verdict: Selected.
