GeeksforGeeks Lead Program Experience 2023

Becoming a part of the highly-coveted GeeksforGeeks Lead Program (GPL) 2023 was more than just a chance for me; it was a transformative voyage that completely revitalized my college years. Prepare to be enthralled as I take you on a thrilling ride through the process of applying for the GFG lead role at my university – from completing application forms to gaining invaluable wisdom from the dynamic Mr Akshay Kumar Paswan, our GFG mentor.

Round 1: Shortlisting and 1st interview:

The journey commenced with the release of GFG Lead position applications by our past lead. Filled with enthusiasm, I eagerly applied, unaware of the incredible growth and impact that was soon to come. The initial round of interviews was unlike any other, as it brought together not only our lead but also two leads from various GFG chapters. This diverse panel not only evaluated our technical skills but also our ability to mesh with the larger GFG network. To my surprise, it proved to be an invigorating experience, building my self-assurance and sparking a newfound drive for leadership.
I was thrilled to discover that I had been shortlisted along with a select group of talented individuals. As we progressed to the next round, the excitement and tension mounted. This round was a true test of our technical skills, a gauntlet that we were determined to conquer. Our college was the setting for this intense round, where our previous lead and co-lead presented us with a series of challenging technical questions. It was a gruelling process, but one that only made us more determined to succeed.

Round 2: The Technical Round

The technical round wasn’t just about answering questions; it was a journey into the depths of our knowledge and problem-solving skills. Grilled by our previous lead and co-lead, the round pushed us to showcase our technical knowledge and ability to handle real-world challenges. It was a test, but it was also an opportunity to shine and prove our spirit.

Round 3: Entry of Mentor: Mr Akshay Kumar Paswan

Once the technical round ended, the selected candidates’ names were submitted to the official GFG chapter. This is where I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Akshay Kumar Paswan, our GFG mentor. He played a crucial role in guiding me through the rest of my journey. With his supportive and knowledgeable approach, he not only conducted my interview but also provided valuable insights into the responsibilities and expectations of a GFG chapter lead. It was more than just a simple interview; it was a meaningful mentoring session that expanded my understanding of leadership within the GFG community.
