History of the FIFA World Cup
FIFA World Cup started in 1930 where 13 teams participated in the World Cup and Uruguay won the first World Cup title by defeating Argentina in the final. The FIFA World Cup is stopped between 1934 and 1950 because of World War 2. Uruguay won the first title of the FIFA world cup and with winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup edition Argentina is the recent champion.
Till now 22 editions of the FIFA World Cup played and the 22nd edition of FIFA World is the first edition where female referees officiated men’s matches. One of the interesting facts is Didier Deschamps is the first person to win the FIFA World Cup title both as a player and manager. German striker Miroslav Klose holds the record for most goals scored in a FIFA World Cup, 16 from 2002 to 2014.
Just Fontaine of France holds the record for the most goals scored in a single FIFA World Cup, scoring 13 in 1958. Over the years it is one of the most watched sporting event in the world.

FIFA world cup 2022 was played in Qatar in which 32 teams participate and played across 8 venues in 5 different cities. England ,France ,Morocco ,Portugal ,Netherlands ,Argentina ,Croatia and Brazil qualified for the quarter final of FIFA World Cup 2022 and then France ,Morocco ,Argentina and Croatia qualified for the semi final of FIFA World Cup 2022.
Final was played between Argentina and France on Dec 18th. Argentina won the FIFA world cup 2022 title by defeating France in the final by 4-2 in penalties.
