Driems University College Experience

My college journey began when I failed to crack JEE Mains on my first attempt. Coming from an Indian family, my father urged me not to take a gap year to attempt next year’s JEE Mains. And about my college, As I belong to a middle-class family, we could only afford a tier 3 college. So, I decided to continue my B.Tech journey at DRIEMS University. At that time, it was known as DRIEMS Autonomous Engineering College, the only affordable option in our locality.
Initially, I disliked the college due to my desire for self-satisfaction and seeing my friends enjoying themselves at better colleges made my first year challenging. However, by the end of the year, I was selected for an AICTE event at my college. This experience provided me with a different perspective on the college. I realized that with less competition, I could focus more on my academic performance. I focused on my skills in my 2nd year, As my primary language was Python; I decided to go with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning fields
As I continued, I formed close friendships that became dear to my heart. I came to believe that spending time with friends can make me feel better. Trust me, meeting and talking with friends can make you forget your all troubles, at least for a while. This realization marked a turning point in my life.
By the end of the second year, I realized that I could also enjoy myself here. I understood that Balance is key; if you’re hustling, ensure that enjoyment is also a part of your life. Enjoyment doesn’t come with a price tag. For example, our college fest didn’t have a high budget, so we didn’t have actors or singers performing. However, it didn’t mean we didn’t enjoy ourselves. As I said, enjoyment doesn’t come with a price. Only you have to find a satisfaction point that we always ignore.
B.Tech college life is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. There are hostel fun, class bunks, couple goals, trips with friends, college events, entrepreneurship, and much more. One thing remains constant: our college is the worst of all, as we often say. Now, as a fourth-year student, I am running through many internships to be a part of. While our placements may not be the best, our mindset is not poor. At last, I must say; You have to ENDURE it because it’s your journey. It’s not over because YOU are the author of your journey.
