Every business or organisation starts with some basic motives that they plan to achieve during a particular course of time. Goals can be classified into two types, Missions and Visions. Mission can be described as the quantitative goals of the organisation which needs to be achieved in the near future. Vision can be described as the qualitative goals of the organisation which are to be achieved in the long term.

Mission can be defined as the quantitative goals of the organisation which are planned to be achieved in the near future. Missions are the short-term and near-future goals of the organisation. Mission focuses on the present stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, competitors, shareholders, board of directors, etc. For example, the commerce department of Geeksforgeeks has a mission of achieving traffic of 3 lacs during August. This target/goal is a short-term goal, which will be known as a mission.
